How To Reduce Stress And Tension

by Repfuel Sports 10 Apr 2023 0 Comments

Stress: A feeling of emotional or physical tension that can come from any event or thought that makes you feel angry, nervous, and frustrated. Physiological stress can be healed with therapies and medicines, but mental stress is hard to deal with because the effects of stress on the body are clear. Physical symptoms of stress are not hard to read, but chronic stress is not easy to identify.

Sometimes it may seem like there’s nothing you can do about it, but there are various steps that you can take to release the mental pressure.

The problems may seem never-ending; trust me, there will never be more than twenty-four hours, and your work and family responsibilities will always be demanding. But you need to have faith because it’s possible that you'll feel like drowning, but if you have faith in yourself, you can handle it.

Effective stress management is about learning what makes you relaxed, so you can be healthier, happier, and more productive. The primary goal of any individual is to have a balanced life. We all want time for ourselves, for our relationships, and our mental and physical growth because if any one of these things is missing, it gets difficult to have a stress-free life. But there isn't any one solution to deal with stress. Stress management isn't a guide to follow. So, it's best to identify what is working for you by trying multiple things first.

The following tips for stress management can help you do that.

First: Identify The Sources Of Stress

Easier said than done? True! First, identify what causes stress, then start working on the ways to get rid of it. Sound easy. But it's more complicating than that. You need to work on yourself to figure out what is causing that stress. While it’s easy to identify major stress points such as changing jobs, moving, peer pressure, or going through any sort of family stress, finding the sources of chronic stress can be quite complicated. And at times, it is quite usual to overlook your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, which contribute to your everyday stress levels.

Look closely at your habits and your behavioural pattern to find out what's causing your stress:

Can you really say it's temporary when you know in your heart that you are struggling with such thoughts every day?

Is stressing an integral part of your work or home?

Do you blame the cause on others or situations, or else view them as entirely unexceptional and normal?

Second: Reduce Stress -Practice The 4 A’S

The 4A’s of stress are:

  • Avoid
  • Alter
  • Adapt
  • Accept

Avoid

Avoid unnecessary anxiety in your life. It’s unhealthy to avoid stressful situations, but we should avoid the source of stress. The source of your stress could be anything, it could be either your work or personal life. Sometimes even your closest people might be causing stress in your life, and it’s possible that you don't see the situation like it is.

How can you deal with them?

Learn to say NO.- it sounds easy. Isn’t it? But try to remember when is the last time you said NO to anyone. I assure you it’s not that usual. It’s difficult for most people to say NO to anything even if they don’t want to do it. SO, PRACTICE IT, LEARN IT, DO IT.

Avoid people who are stressing you. It’s the best and only way forward. Or try to communicate, be verbal about your needs, and let them know that they are causing you stress and ask them to alter their ways.

Alter

Take control of your environment and your feelings. Do not get too attached and overwhelmed by anything general in life. Alter the ways you are treating yourself and demand the same from people around you in respectful way. Express your feelings instead of burying them. Learn to be expressive, use your words and express what you are feelings. Do not bottle everything up.

Adapt

Adapt a little but do not sacrifice everything. Yes!! Achieve that balance in life, its important. And choose happiness and positive things over stress and negativity every day. It’s a conscious choice, it’s up to you if you choose mental stress or learn how to deal with it.

Accept

Accept the things that are not in your control. As we grow older, we experienced a lot of things. Not all thins bring joy, some bring worry, stress, and pain, unbearable emotional pain. But acceptance is the key to keep moving in life. It’s painful. But it’s essential. Also Forgive yourself. As life continues, we keep on holding grudges and regrets, learn to forgive.

Third: How To Manage Stress

When things do not go as planned, we tend to give up, that's the human tendency.

But what helps you here is regularly exercising for about 30 minutes or more; it's okay to build up your fitness gradually. Even a few activities can add up over a day. The first thing to do is to be active and follow any daily physical activity routine for 30 minutes, even if it's cycling, walking, or any other outdoor game. This will keep you engaged in other activities, and you will think less about things what causes stress. Even the physical symptoms of stress will start to reduce. Your physical health will also improve.

You can also listen to some relaxing music. You can indulge in yoga. And once in a while you can give in to your hunger cravings and treat yourself with your favourite meal.

Take away !!

Basically! Find what you enjoy doing. There's no way to back off in life; the office, gym, friends, and family all are part of it. And the day you learn how to manage stress and balance everything together without affecting your mental peace and personal space, from that moment, you will learn how to be stress free. Alter your ways, adapt, accept, avoid, and get rid of stress. And live a healthier life.

Stress less and enjoy the best.!!
